Privacy Policy

Gifty is a gifting platform operated by Mercator ("Gifty", "we", "us", or "our") based in Lebanon. Gifty lets you discover, personalize, purchase, and send gifts and gift cards from local stores, and have them delivered to the people you choose.

This policy covers all of our services across the web and mobile apps. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use Gifty.

We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information about recipients you provide, and information collected automatically as you use Gifty.

Information you give us:

• Account details: your name, phone number, and (optionally) email address, created when you sign in with a one-time phone code.
• Order and delivery details: delivery addresses, recipient names and phone numbers, gift messages, scheduled dates, and order notes.
• Payment information: processed securely by our payment providers. We receive limited transaction data (such as the last four digits, card brand, and a payment token) but never your full card number or CVV.
• Content you upload: images and descriptions for special (custom) gift requests, and any messages you add to a gift.
• Communications: messages you send us through support, WhatsApp, or email.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage and device data: pages viewed, features used, approximate location (from your delivery city), device type, browser, and a device identifier.
• Search activity: the queries you enter into search and the AI Gift Finder, used to return results and improve recommendations.
• Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in and to understand how Gifty is used (see "Cookies and analytics" below).

We use your information to:

• Create and secure your account and sign you in.
• Process, fulfil, and deliver your orders and gift cards, and coordinate with stores and delivery partners.
• Send order confirmations, delivery updates, gift-tracking links, and account notifications.
• Power features such as the AI Gift Finder, personalized recommendations, the wallet, credits, referrals, and promotions.
• Process payments, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and keep Gifty safe.
• Respond to your requests and provide customer support.
• Analyze and improve our products, and — where you have not opted out — send you relevant offers.
• Comply with legal obligations.

Card payments are processed through Areeba (a certified Mastercard payment gateway) and Whish Money. Card data is entered directly with the payment provider using secure hosted fields and tokenization — Gifty never sees or stores your full card number or security code.

Your Gifty wallet balance, credits, and transaction history are stored to operate those features. Wallet balances have no cash value except where required by law.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run Gifty:

• Stores and partners that prepare your order.
• Delivery partners who deliver your gift, including the recipient's name, phone number, and address.
• Payment providers (Areeba, Whish Money) to process transactions.
• Service providers who host our systems and send messages on our behalf (for example Google Firebase for hosting and notifications, and email/SMS providers).
• Authorities or third parties when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Gifty, our users, or others.
• A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

When you send a gift, you provide details about the recipient (such as their name, phone number, and address). You confirm that you are entitled to share this information with us for the purpose of delivering the gift.

We use recipient details only to deliver the gift, send delivery and gift-tracking notifications, and enable the recipient to claim a gift card. If a recipient contacts us, we will explain that their details were provided by a sender.

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide our services. After you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records (such as transaction and tax records) to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, tokenized payments, and monitoring for abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your data and promptly address any issues.

You can:

• Access and update your profile, addresses, and saved details from your account.
• Delete your account at any time from Account settings on the web or in the app. Deleting your account removes your personal profile and frees your phone number for future use.
• Opt out of marketing messages while still receiving essential order and account notifications.
• Contact us to exercise any rights you have under applicable law.

Gifty is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how Gifty is used. We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to measure traffic and improve the experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how Gifty works.

Gifty relies on trusted cloud providers (including Google Firebase and Google Cloud). Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. We take steps to ensure your information remains protected wherever it is processed.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Gifty after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
